In August 2007, I took my Hi8 camera out again to film the annual mini tattoo over three days capturing the musical experience of the event and I now present it to the everyone in the world. The Mini Tattoo is an annual fixture in Princes Street Gardens, Edinburgh next to the Ross Bandstand. The Mini Tattoo is as it's name suggests a mini version of the main show that is staged at Edinburgh Castle. I put a lot of effort into making this film and it took a long time to edit.

Hi everyone, thought I'd give you an update of what is happening. Soon, I hope to get the swing of making more blogs but I don't feel like doing them just now, maybe I just don't like being in front of the camera but behind more; maybe I should do a Hitchcock. anyway, thanks for watching if you make it to the end.

In August 2007, I went around Edinburgh during the Festival Fringe with my Hi8 camera capturing the 2007 events. As I'm a student, I could not afford to go to events such as the international festival   more...so produced my own program of events which were all free. The Fringe has started up another scheme called Free Festival which has a website displaying a list of shows which all cost nothing. On my festival trips, I went to the Royal Mile for watching street performers, attended the...

June saw the third session of the Scottish Parliament take place. This was a fun shoot as I didn't have any kind of plan before hand so everything captured was a surprise. I read about it in the newspaper and went along to film using my new Hi8 camera. The day began with a riding down the Royal Mile and then into a open air concert outside the Parliament building. The day of events was intended to bring together all Scottish people and to celebrate the future of Scotland.

During May, 2006 a massive arts festival took place in Edinburgh. Similar events occur throughout the world where cow sculptures are placed around a town or city. In Edinburgh, maps were provided for visitors to try and find them all. I tried this myself which was quite fun although when I took part, it was the last week so quite a few had been stolen which spoiled the hunt and I didn't find them all after trailing to each location, only to find that they are gone. I made a photo video to...

In the first week August, I took part in the RYLA experience, a week long activity week for young people to help me to gain confidence and build leadership skills. I was sponsored by my local rotary club   more...of Portobello to go to the centre in go to Loch Tay in Scotland. Here, I met some new friends and took part in a number of activities such as climbing, absailing, canoing, gorge walking, hillwalking, crate building, high/low ropes and of course the most bizarre experience of my...

After opening my account with live video, I began to view what other people were making for themselves. I had never been involved with any sort of web blog making until last year. It looked like fun so I decided to do my own blogs. These were produced in the later part of 2007 and I haven't picked up the pace of making them frequently which I hope to do in 2008 very soon.

I made this photo video to showcase my family experiences of the beach from when I was very young until more recently. Most every holiday involved a trip to the beach and this became a fav part for me and my sister. I chose a tune from the nutcracker which I felt created a humorous tone to the piece, hope you like it. Me and my sister used to build a large pond where we would then create rivers connecting to the see, it was lots of fun.

During 2006-07, I became involved with a number of conservation projects as a member of the Green Team, an organisation of volunteers that carry out 2 day weekend residentials as well as day trips to locations around the Lothians cleaning and conserving the environment. I went to many places such as the John Muir Country Park, Straiton Pond, Vogrie Country Park, Bonaly, Almondell among others. Prior to this, during 2005-06, I went along to many activties through a scheme called 'Go4it' which...

For the past ten years, I have made several visits to Wilburn Farm, just outside the town of Hawick in the Scottish Borders. Here, I have grown up in the beauty of the countryside in addition to the rest of Scotland's magnificent scenery. I am possible going back again in 2008 after a year gap which has never happened before. I'd like to make another film there, something extra special with my new camera. While on holiday here, I made a friend with a dog called 'Ben'. We had many a memory...

Well, it was only a question of time when I was going to do one of these videos after browsing around you tube and live video. I made this at the end of 2007 in Autumn and was about to make a whole series of blog videos but I stopped because I became too busy. I hope to continue making new blogs for 2008 and really get into it. I found this challenge really testing and it took me a few days to master which is a long time.

Ten years ago, I went on a school trip to Vogrie country park, Mid-lothian which remains a special memory for me. At the time, several photos were   taken from one of my parents' old cameras which am unsure of the model. I remember when three 'SMT' buses would take the three year groups here, p4 I believe at the time and would travel there by convoy. In late 2007, I decided to make some photo videos to archive memories I have myself along with my family.

I made this video from photos of my cat found in various photo albums. I am planning on making a documentary on Dusty as he is getting old and it would be nice to capture some memories of him. Here, you can see him get up to his usual habits and you get a taste of how different my family is with him around, enjoy.

This is a video I produced for use in a presentation for media studies higher where we were asked to talk about genre. I thought about dressing up for fun which worked fairly well although I have to say, I hate my attempt at accents.

This is the first time I ever used any type of moving image device. I shot it in 2004 with my cybershot p73 digital still camera with movie mode and it quite fun although I had severe camera shake on this day. The music is from 'Where Eagles Dare', a fantastic film featuring Richard Burton and Clint Eastwood. I thought the music fitted the video and at the time, it was for fun.
